Little Zig Zag Falls, 34.5 Weeks

We are enjoying our 4 day weekend at home this year. We were talking today and came to the realization that we have never just stayed home for a long weekend like this, we almost always go somewhere. We hardly know what to do with all the time we have! While it is sort of weird not being with family for Thanksgiving we had a great time yesterday with Jonathan & Jessica's family.

Today we went for a little drive up the mountain to pick up Emily's cell phone from our friends house (I swear that thing jumps out of her purse... first old Chicago, and now the Cogar's). We decided to take a second crack at finding this waterfall they told us about, and this time we were successful!

Here are a few photos from the journey, it was a fun little hike to get back to a pretty impressive little waterfall. I am really trying to get better at getting eyes to "pop" in my photos, I was pretty pleased with some of the results today.

And a few of the falls...

34 Weeks

Emily is 34 Weeks pregnant today! Only 42 days until the due date. She is starting to feel the effects of being pregnant a little more intensely now. I feel so helpless as there isn't really anything I can do aside from get her things and maybe rub her back now and then (don't tell her I said that! She'll hold me to it).

We had a check up yesterday with our Nurse/Midwife and everything is on track. We also had our final night of childbirth class last night, there's nothing like watching a complete stranger give birth on a poor quality VHS recording from the 80's (the hair styles are a dead giveaway). All in all though the classes over the past 6 weeks have been great. We both learned a lot, and feel at least a little more prepared to go into this whole labor thing than we did before.

Here is a photo I took of Emily this morning just outside our house. I am amazed by how beautiful she becomes each and every day, who knew pregnancy could be sexy!

32 weeks!

So this week has been awesome! Our 2 year anniversary was on Tuesday and I know you are going to be surprised....cause it’s us....but we didn’t' get any pics of anything we did that day! Joe already had the day off because of Veterans day, so I took it off as well and we just spent the whole day together.

The first trip (after waking up late & my amazing honey making me French toast :) ), was to Babies R Us to get our travel system! I love it, I know its really girly, but oh well, if she’s not a girl this wont be the only pink thing he owns :). After some more baby shopping we went to the mall and walked around for a while, did some people watching, and went to Eagle Eye (which is very good) at the mall cinemas.

That night we had tickets to an Ingrid Michelson concert (kinda Indi-Folk-Rock hard to explain but awesome) so we went over there early for parking & decided to eat in the restaurant next door. It was good but very different, interesting dishes...we couldn't pronounce half of them but it was really fun to try to order things when we had no idea what they were :). When we got to the concert we also realized we had neglected to ask one very important question..."are their seats?". I didn't know you had to ask this question but obviously you did because we ended up standing for about 3 1/2 hours! We did get a place by the wall so I would just sit down against the wall between acts. It was so much fun and very memorable (but next time I'll ask about seating).

Anyway, that’s our week and here is at least a picture of our new travel system and my enormously growing belly (proof is in the very first stretch marks i sadly witnessed this week *sad*).

I love this town...

The view of Mt. Hood was breathtaking this morning as I was leaving the house. So I made a quick stop at Jonsrud Viewpoint and was met with this (click for a larger version):

It was a stunning view... the photo does not really do it justice.
