Daddy's Little Princess

For Father's Day Katey gave Joe her own present :) We bought a frame that had three 4X6 openings and it looked as follows...

Happy Father's Day Joe
(and 6 month birthday to his princess)

Family Worship Time

Tonight Daddy brought out the guitar for some family worship time. Katey LOVES the guitar, she just stares at it and then at Joe, then at me and around in circles, with smiles all around :).

Fabulous Feet!

Katey actually found her feet weeks ago but she was just so darn cute on the bed today that I thought I would share her joy in her discovery.

I know from experience they DO taiste good. Of course, as any good mother would do, I had to try them myself. They are especially good if you blow on them first :).

Our Adventure!

Many of you know Katey and I went camping this last weekend for her first time! It was such a blast! She was AMAZING and such a trooper.

Saturday afternoon my friend Julie, her three kids, Katlyn and I took off for the hour and a half drive to Maupin, OR where her husband was training the summer staff for their outdoor adventure company called ON THE EDGE ADVENTURES.

This was one of the last training trips and they were certifying on specific sections of the river so Julie and I were able to tag-team watching the kids while the other went rafting the hour long section.

It was such a fun trip though and I was absolutly thrilled to be able to raft (something I had to pass up last year becasue I was pregnant). Katelyn was sooo good the entire time! She slept just as good, if not better, in the tent which also housed all seven of us; Julie, her husband, 5 year old Even, 3 year old Andrew and 8 1/2 month old Ella, Katelyn and I.

Here are just a few pics from our trip, they don't do any justice in showing how much fun the weekend truely was.

We got to camp @ 5 sat night.

and just hung out.

They were such a fun group!

Huddling for prayer before meals.

The staff were sooo good with the kids...

and let them play like little boys like to.

Julie and Ella

My charmer

She was such a good girl and slept right next to me almost all night.

Getting ready to raft!

Rapids! Yay!

It was a long trip...

and even though they claimed by their fusses they wern't tired...

this was the status of our precious cargo on the drive home.
Such a fun adventure!

First Solids!

After much research and procrastination Joe & I decided to start Katey on solids today and see what she thought. I'm sure the fact that our daughter likes to put anything and everything in her mouth helped quite a bit. Though there were some interesting looks we think it was a total success and as long as she seems to react ok we will probably try again tomorrow :).

Yum! Ground up oats, water & breast milk...not exactly my idea of great cuisine.

"Hum, your putting something in my mouth, ok I'll suck on it."

"Oh wait, (gulp) there's something on it."

"Hum, I'll have to try about five more spoon fulls then I'll decide if its ok."

"Ooo, that's good, I wanna do it myself!"

"I'm such a big girl... Ok, now what do i do with it?"

Mommy & Me time!

Last week my friend Lisa and I were discussing the fact that a GOOD "Mommy and Me" group is not that easy to find. (For any who don't know this term, I simply mean a group of mom's who get together to talk while their kids play, the talking part is optimistic but hoped for.) Then it dawned on us, we should start our own!

Today was the very first outing of our brand new "Mommy and Me" group! We met at Meinig Park and here are my definition of "a few" pics :)

I was just as excited about this as Riley was, but she looks a lot cuter than I did when I ran this way to the playground.

Here are some introductions...

This is my friend Lisa, the cohort in crime with whom the idea was hatched

Mommy of 2 mo old Ty

and a very cute 2 1/2 yr old Zac

Don't you agree?

This is Jamie, Lisa's sister-in-law, with little 2 mo old Noah
(His cousin Ty was born only 8 days before him)

A very peaceful Baby Noah

This is Noah's big sister Madison, who is a very bubbly 3 with a huge personality :)

I love this picture of her!

This is Jessica and another hungry little baby;

Fletcher was born 3 months early so technically he is 4 months old, but really he is 7 months

This is Fletcher's big sister Riley who, as you can see, has absolutely no personality either :)

Of course this tired girl needs no introductions but I wanted to explain ahead of time that I didn't get that many pics of her because she proceeded (immediately following this picture) to sleep through the whole play date :)

So all in all we had 3 adults and 7 children! The playground was VERY busy so the idea that any of us got to sit down for very long is misleading, but when we did this was ground zero :)

Riley loved the tire swing

This was Madison's first time in the swing all by herself!

Riley is very outgoing and soon found friends to play with.

Madison and Zac on the other hand stayed pretty close.

Madison takes very seriously the role of older cousin and took very good care of Zac

Zac was so mild mannered and let her lead him all over the play ground

So much help!

Finally my love woke up, right before it was time to go home.

It was such a fun day! I can't wait until next Tuesday to do it all over again.
