Snow Day!

This morning we woke up to a gorgeous blanket of snow outside, and it's still coming down! So OF COURSE we had to go out in it! Katey just got a new snow suit and we've been excitedly waiting for an excuse to use it.  So after we rushed through breakfast, brushed our teeth and stuffed her into as many warm clothes as we could get on we bravely adventured out into the winter wonderland! So much fun!

At first she as a little apprehensive...

But it didn't take long till she was off!

Haha, she didn't quite know what to do though when it got on her face :)

Then came sledding with Grammy!

But she liked being IN the snow better :)

And of course...

...eating it!

A talent which Grammy made sure she learned correctly!

It was pretty popular!

We also tried snow angles, but as you can tell from her face...they didn't go over that well :)

Then it was inside...

To warm up...

...the true way of any snow adventurer!

Christmas Day!

Some how I didn't get any pics of opening presents Christmas morning! Can you believe that, but honestly, it was alot like opening presents on her birthday, only her skills have definitely improved and she thinks she should help EVERYONE open their presents :)  After a great time opening presents and a very filling breakfast of "Eggy 'Tatoes" we decided to let Katey run off some of her exuberant energy and for us to walk off some of the copious amounts of sugar we'd been inhaling in the last week...or longer :)

Kisses for Grammy :)

Then it was home...to watch movies and laze all day...oh and eat more sugar! Haha it was truly an awesome Christmas! Happy Birthday Jesus!

Christmas Eve!

Normally this holiday season would be spent at eather my parents or Joe's parents house, surrounded by family with traditions that have been established for years.  But because of Anna's expected arrival we not only remained in Sandy for Christmas, but Grammy got to come and spend it with us as well.

Truthfully, it was a priceless and unforgeable.  We decided to start a few new traditions.  As many of you know, Joe has been perfecting his pizza making skills and he decided to use Christmas Eve as an excuse to try something he's been wanting to for a while..bbq pizza!

He seriously out did himself! It was the perfect crust and simply amazing...I have NO idea what happened to the top of that piece ;)

After thoroughly enjoying not one, or two but THREE of these pizzas (the other two with many more toppings)  we all piled into the van for our next adventure.  Complete with jammies, comfy pants, thick socks with no shoes, blankets to cuddle up in and Christmas music to serenade us we headed out!  After a quick trip through the McDonalds drive through for ice cream, we drove all over ooing and awing at all the amazing Christmas lights.  The most fun was sharing it with Katey (the lights not the ice cream, that kinda gave me a stomach ache :) haha) but her face lit up and her constant demand for "more lights", "more lights", made it an unforgetable experience for all of us!

After over an hour of enjoying our toasty sleigh, yummy ice cream, and great company) we went home to put a tired girl down and Joe and I got the rare opportunity to go to a candle light Christmas Eve service...with out a tired baby.  I think what I love most about candle light services (esp on Christmas Eve) is they are a time for reflection, we got to just sit and consider why we were really doing all this Christmas stuff!  We sang all the wonderful, meaningful songs that tell of a savior that was God's gift to man...Oh how he loved us!

I got to sit and think about how Mary must have felt, more pregnant than I and RIDING ON A DONKEY! Holy cow, I have a hard time riding in the car!  She was younger than I, and though her situation was much more dire than mine, her faith in our God never wavered and she believed the promise told to her.  I definitely felt a connection to her and was challenged to truely "treasure all of these things in my heart".  Jesus, the one who loves me and came to "fix it" (as Katey says when she reads her book about the fall of man and Jesus), is truly the reason we celebrate this season and the most amazing gift anyone could give, bath pillows, new sheets and even a new dolly can not compare!

Though you may not have had a candle light service to prompt this epiphany, I hope he revealed it to your heart too this year.

37 weeks! Full term :)

Just a few quick pics of my huge belly! Can't wait for Anna, and neither can her sister :)

Haha, yes this is a self portrait!

So excited to meet you Anna!

Katey's 2!

Our little Katey Bug turned two! I can't believe it, its crazy how much of a toddler she really has become.  She talks in compleate sentences and her thought patters and memory are just unbelievable sometimes! I love all her sayings like "TO mow wow", "Be wright back", "GET ice cweam" and "No tank to".  I wish I could just record everything she does right now because I know that I'm going to forget so much of this stage but all the videos and pictures I take of her just wouldn't capture the millions of colorful aspects of her huge personality.  Here are a few pics from her birthday Day...

It started with opening a few presents at home in the morning...

She definitely gets the whole tearing the paper thing!

Her new dolly from Grammy & Grandpa...

To go along with her new dolly cradle made by Pappy!

She first starts with just two dollies put gently in the bed...

But soon the idea escalated!

And soon all her dollies had jammies on and she and them were piled in!

Bu then she decided they needed a book and was convinced that she could sit next to them to read it...she's such a  good little mommy!

Next we had to measure her on our new growth chart (which mama hasn't quite finished), and she stood so still and straight! We were so proud of her!

Then she had to measure other things too...but somehow the chin became the line at which to measure...haha

She went around to each of us to "measure" :) So cute!

Next we got all dressed up and went to church...there are pics somewhere...but I think they are on my parents camera and will have to be added later...her dress is so cute!
(thanks Aunt Steph & Uncle Zach!)

Then after an afternoon nap it was PARTY time!

Puppy cupcakes her creative and amazing Daddy made!

So many friends came! (just a few are pictured :) )

Like Katey's new baby...that she wasn't to keen on sharing!
