The cutest little calf ever!

Just thought you might enjoy this outfit as much as I do. Lindsay from church got it for her and I couldn't resist pictures. Oh and also, Katey has started smiling alot more. This morning i got quite a few smiles and wanted to share one with everyone. Enjoy :)

These letters will be on the wall soon, but i wanted to get up pics to show my parents while they are in town. These are the new letters i scrapbooked to go over Katey's bed. Just in case she forgot who she was, she has it right there to look at :).

Cute moments

Here are a few photos of moments we thought were pretty cute...

Katelyn asleep in her swing.

We have determined she doesn't fully understand that "Tummy Time" is supposed to be for exercising.

Lounging in her bathrobe after getting all pretty and clean.
The robe says "I'm So Cute"... as if we need a robe to tell us that.

Grammy's visit!

Joe's mom came to visit this week and we have had a blast. It is so nice having an extra set of arms to hold Katey and just the support has been awesome. She arrived last thrusday and we have made quite a week of it as you can see below.

***I must make a disclamer at the beginningfor my husband, these pictures were not taken with his fancy shmanzy camera and therefore the quality and or composition of them is not in any way a reflection of his photgraphy skills. All of these pics are thanks to Grammy. Just FYI :)

Proud Grammy!

Katey & Grammy reading a book while mom gets a shower all to herself!

Grammy also did what comes natural to all grammys and that is, take a million pics of her grand daughter. Here are a few...

Naked baby :)

Changing her on the table her Papppy (my dad) made for her.

She was all eyes!

Monday, bright and early (which for me is abotu 11 o'clock by the time we get out of the house dressed, showered and fed 10 times) the four of us went up to timberline lodge to have hot chocolate on Katey's ONE MONTH birthday :).

A friend from church made this hat for Katey, we love it.

Our little family

Budling up to go for a walk in the snow suit and hat Aunty Alaina bought for her. I promise there is a baby in there.
The first time Katey rode in the stroller without the carseat on top. The truth is she wouldnt' fit in the carseat with all her layers on.
I think Katey was so warm in all her layers that she didn't even open an eye the whole time.

Monday night Joe & I took a big plunge and left Katey for our first night out since her birth. Grammy did an awesome job as her first date night baby sitter, and I only called twice to check in :).

Thanks Grammy for everything! We will never forget this week.

First Bottle

Katelyn ate her first meal out of a bottle tonight, which means it was the first time her daddy got to feed her! I was very excited, it was a pretty cool experience.

What I come home to at lunch

I came home for lunch to day and found this... Can you believe these lazy girls!!!

In reality though... Emily is doing amazing. What I really found when I came home from lunch today was a super clean house. Floors mopped, laundry done, stairs vacuumed, dishes done and kitchen cleaned... I was shocked. My wife is amazing!!

Katelyn & Friends

Katelyn "hanging out" with her pals....

Katelyn & Fletcher looking out the windows and going to town on their binkies...

Katelyn & Ella catching some zzzzzzz's...

So "Beary" Cute

We could not resist this outfit:

Swinging in the jungle

When Katelyn isn't being held she gets to spend some time in some pretty stylin toys. This is her jungle swing courtesy of Jonathan & Jessica. She has a matching jumper but she's a wee bit small for that still. More pictures to follow. Its a Monday night post~o~ramma!!

FYI

Just for those people who want to. Joe, as you know, is a genius and found the option that says "only those with blogs can leave comments", and unchecked it. So now....anyone who wants can leave comments. Just thought I'd let you all know.

Not Broken FYI

Had a few people ask so I figured I should post an update. Fortunately my toe is not broken, it is just a bad sprain. After looking at the x-rays they gave me a weird little "foot cast" thing that I can use to walk in but told me to try to stay off my feet for a few days.

Its feeling a lot better this afternoon so long as I don't move it. But at least its not constant throbbing like it was last night. I have a good feeling about getting some sleep this evening. :)

Hangin out at urgent care

So we are waiting to see the results of some x-rays. Katey is looking super cute in her handmade outfit that a friend of my mom got for us. Emily is wearing her in the sling that Great Grandma & Grandpa Mehaffey got us.

Early morning or late night?

Nothing like a 5 AM blog posting! I haven't been able to sleep tonight because I hurt my toe. I was running up the stairs trying to get to my phone before a call went to voicemail and KABOOM. I'm not sure if its broken or not but its keeping me up regardless. I figured I could make use of the time and post an update since we've kind of put it off all week. We'll probably go into urgent care this morning when the girls wake up to get my foot x-rayed. So much for snowboarding on Sunday I guess :(

On a positive note (and much cuter than my foot I might add) Katelyn is 3 weeks old as of Friday. She is doing so great, God has really blessed us with a wonderful baby. She is starting to have a lot more awake time which is really fun, except when its between the hours of 10pm and 7am. We are sort of kind of trying to start her on some sleep routines, but we still feel like she's a little too young. Ok ok, and we both are too weak to let her cry for more than a few minutes at a time :) We have been getting some use out of our super cool baby monitor that Jeanne bought us though. Thanks Jeanne!!

Here are a few photos we took earlier this week. You can't tell very well in the pictures but her eyes are starting to look a little blue. Its so amazing to watch her grow and change.

2 Weeks!

Katelyn is 2 weeks old today and doing very well. We took her into the doctor today for her 2 week checkup and they had all sorts of questions about her development. Like does she track movement with her eyes, does she seem to focus on your face, does she grab your finger if you put it in her hand, does she lift her head... etc. etc.

We answered yes to all of them which is a good sign I guess. She is also up to 7 lbs 14 oz, so exactly 1 lb above her birth weight and is 20" long. It is really good that she is up 1 lb, our pediatrician told us most babies are just getting back to their birth weight at 2 weeks so she is doing great. She also told us we are very fortunate to have a fast eater. Katelyn and Emily make such a great team that they can get the job often times in less than 10 minutes.

No new photos at the moment, I'll take some tomorrow and post them. We are hoping to have a lazy day around the house involving lots of napping and snuggling and maybe a few movies.

Happy New Year!

Sorry we've been slacking on posting a little lately...

This week has been going well so far. Its just been the three of us since Monday so we've had lots of time to relax and adjust to life as a new family. I've been working half days all week so I can help Emily out and make sure she's getting enough rest. She is doing wonderful by the way. She looks amazing for just having had a baby 2 weeks ago. I snagged a good one somehow.

Katelyn is also doing very well. We went into the doctor yesterday and she is up ot 7 lbs 11 oz. Typically babies don't even get back to their birth weight until they are 2 weeks old. Our little over achiever was almost 1 pound up at 12 days! Good girl! Her belly button is doing a little better now. That was actually the main reason for the doctor visit yesterday. They used a little silver nitrate to help cauterize it so it will stop bleeding. We go back tomorrow for her 2 week checkup and they'll look at it again to make sure its doing ok.

Here are a few more photos (I know that's really what everyone wants to see).

This is Katelyn in her first dress last Sunday for church:

And here is Katelyn taking a bath with her mommy (she loves the water):
