San Diego 2010

So its taken a while but finally here are some of the pictures from Katey & I's adventure down to San Diego over new years. The main reason for the trip was my Grandfather's surprise 80th birthday party. It was an awesome event!

Grandma crying as she led him in, they were both ecstatic :)

Blowing out his candles

Still in love!

I think this was his fav part :)

First time he's had all four of his great grand babies together at one time...too bad Katey wasn't as pleased as him :)

The whole gang! What a party :)

Happy birthday Grandpo! We all love you more than we can say!

And since we were already close we also got to go and spend time with my Mom's Mom "Grammy" to me and "G G" to all the great grand kids.

She's lived in this house since her and my grandpa built it right after the war :)

We went to the beach a few times, but sometimes i think Katey liked the sea gulls more than the water :)

But her Nana made sure she developed a healthy love for the ocean (This is where she grew up!)

She wasn't so sure the first time.
She was ok as long as Nana held her and went out in the water.

But then when we returned for our second visit, she was going to show Pappy exactly how this was done and headed straight for the water!

There was definitely no fear! I'm not sure how far she would have actually gone if Nana wouldn't have been there!

In fact she found all kinds of fun things in there!

Grammy (AKA G G)was pretty proud to have her great grand babies on her beach :)

G G & Katey :)

We also had an awesome oppertunity while we were there to go to the wild animal park with GG, My mom, brother, sister-in-law, nephew, aunt, cousin, cousin's husband and two kids! (did you get all that? I was kinda confused half the day too!) It was quite a gang!

Katey ready for safari!

She was totally transfixed by the animals! She kept pointing then patting her chest= "please"!

This is one of my fav pics! The lion just stared at her!

She loved it when we let her down to walk!

Lunch time!

"Come on G G, your not going fast enough!"

Uncle Ben is a monkey, and he's teaching his niece early :)

Ok back to animals! The petty zoo was a big hit!

But after hours of no nap, it finally overcame her and she conked in one of her fav places on earth!

Her Pappy was pretty happy about the arrangement too :)

It didn't' last that long, but she was still a Pappy's girl.

It was defiantly a event-packed week full of lots of family, memories and a few priceless Katey hugs.
