Seaside Resort!

So Friday night we were over at Jeremy and Lisa's house having a GREAT dinner and right before dinner Jeremy comes into the house (the guys were working outside) and says to Lisa "My mom will watch Zach!". So Lisa turns to me and asks "Do you guys want to go to Seaside with us on SUNDAY MORNING to stay at a resort in the Penthouse sweet!?", "UM YES!!!" was the immediate answer (of course followed by an attempt at a calm "I'll have to talk to Joe, of course."

The weekend that followed was just unbelievable. Sunday morning Jeremy & Lisa arrived with Ty (their 3 month old son), and the six of us headed to Seaside!

She was VERY excited to go

OK, so the following pictures have a HUGE part in our trip. You see, Joe has a new hobby and this hobby is, in a big part, credited to Jeremy. It's is called geocaching.
We teased Jeremy and Lisa about choosing US as their traveling companions mainly due to the fact that Joe shares Jeremy's love of geocaching. Therefore, I took the following few pics to explain to all of the non-geocachers my husbands new obsession, oh I mean hobby :)

They start out with GPS coordinates that they download off of an official geocaching website. The coordinates are placed there by other geocachers who have hidden "treasures" for others to find.

They then follow the GPS coordinates to within close proximity of the location of the "cache" (sometimes assisted with clues from the one who placed it)

Then they simply wonder around looking for anything out of the ordinary that could be hiding their cache.

This is Jeremy finding it (he then walked away and let Joe and I find it ourselves :)

Do you see it?

This one was a simple plastic container

You remove the container, Sometimes there are things inside...that parts hard to explain

But there is always a log book of some kind,

So each of them have a name registered on the geocaching website that they sign in the log book (and then when they get back to their computers (or Joe's phone) they log online that they have found that cache. One of the goals, other than having fun finding the "treasures", is to log as many cache's as possible

Then you return the cache to its place just as you found it and leave it for the next treasure hunter

Much of our free time on this trip was wondering around geocaching, it was actually really fun!

OK, So now onto the resort!!!

We stayed at the Wyndom resort in Seaside, on the 8th floor in the PENTHOUSE SWEET!!!

The view out the living room

Katey liked it too!

We had amazing views whichever way we looked!

This was the pool and hot tub as you could see it from our room.

The master bedroom.

Our bedroom.

The third bedroom, we felt bad not even being able to use it. If the babies fell asleep in their strollers while we were out, we'd just wheel them in here & let them sleep till they woke up. That was the extent of its use.

There were three rooms each with a bathroom to itself! With two jacuzi tubs!

Full Kitchen!

Dinning room with huge TV and fireplace below!
Of course we had to play Settlers of Catan

And, did you really think I wouldn't put a few pics in of the babies playing together!

Katey just wanted to roll right over the top of him and Ty didn't know quite what to do about it.

She just pretty much made the place her own, rolling from one side of the room, all the way down the hall, and would have kept going without parental intervention!

This is the luggage it takes for four adults and two babies for ONE NIGHT!!!
But oh, it was sooo much fun! Thank you Jer & Lisa for choosing us, even if it was only because Joe's a nerd too :)

4th of July

We were thrilled when the Powell's invited us to spend the 4th with them! We met at the Estacada parade and then proceeded to their house for a BBQ, swimming, frisbee and overall an AMAZINGLY good time!

Hanging out at the Estacada parade with the Powells (Jessica & Fletcher here)

Notice her very patriotic 4th of July dress :)

All they need now is a pitch fork!

Isn't this hat just priceless?!

My little patriot

Back at the Powells having a family swim in pool

She thought the water was a little cool at first but warmed up to it pretty quick!

She especially liked riding on daddy's lap in the innertube.

The daddy's and the babies

Jonathon & Fletcher stealing the innertube idea (which is theirs btw)

Lounging in the lap of luxury!

Mike's "lap of luxury" was wherever the shade was :)

But he was helping to watch the babies, which we really appriciated cause they tended to like the sun almost as much as Mike.

"Watch out guys, PDA too be shown in the following photos!"

"She likes me!" says Riley over and over (And its the truth!)

"Ooo, She's cute!"..."I'm not so sure about him."

"What?"

"Haha! That tickles."

"Mom! She's kissing me!"

Such a fun 4th of July!

More pics to come of our Sun and Monday at the Penthouse sweet at the Seaside resort!
Stay tuned...

Cousin Connor

Katey met her cousin (my brother's son) Connor for the first time this past weekend...

At first she wasn't so sure...

But curiosity overcame her...

And she went right for him :)

She decided she liked him quite a bit and from here on out we had to monitor the excited contact.

He is one of the most gorgeous little baby boys I've ever seen and we couldn't get enough of him!

My brother, the DADDY..so weird!

But he's such a good daddy,

And I coudn't be more proud and happy for his gorgeous little family!

Firsts for Katey

A week away is a LONG time! Katey and I just got home on Tuesday night from spending a week in eastern Oregon and Idaho. It was such a great visit! There will be more pictures to come but this week was full of firsts for Katey and we wanted to share a few, enjoy :)

Katey has learned to do raspberries! It is the cutest thing ever! She is VERY serious about her raspberries and scrunches her whole face and body into it. Her Grammy is one of the best at encouraging this new ability.

First sippy cup. Katey LOVES her sippy cup and took to it right away. Only water for now, but she sucks on it like it was a milk shake!

This little contraption is SOO cool. Its a little mesh bag that you put fruits and vegies in and then Katey can suck on the food (frozen banana's is her fav) and get pieces just the right size for her.

Thank you to Miranda, she LOVES it!

Miranda's daughter Kairi had to show Katey how its done, and she even held her hand through the process :)

Uncle Ben (my brother-just had first baby April 24th-Connor Grant)

Uncle Zach (Joe's brother-Due with first baby Aug 13th--Avery Nicole)

Now I know uncles arn't a first, but I thought it was so cute that I got almost the same picture of both of Katey's uncles. There is just something about uncles putting babies on their shoulders I guess.

More pics to come....
